Blessings in the Ordinary


From back surgery to strength training, Pastor Shannyn shares her vulnerability of the life lessons and how healing her body she considers to be holy work. 


After moving to Seattle, she hit rock bottom and rediscovered herself with again within fitness. Yet she had always been part of some type of fitness, listen in to how this time returning to health changed her. 


You will also learn:  

  • how exercise can be used as a drug of choice or can be healing 
  • how normal a sense of control and knowing what to expect
  • how wrestling with God can be a struggle to be who you are meant to be 
  • how trust is trained through being open to listen 
  • the four parts of prayer, we speak, God listens, God speaks, we listen
  • walking is a journey and allows for reflection and relations
  • the significance of the crucifixion and the correlations between our own scars
  • Injuries brings us back to the two most questions ask within the Bible Why and How Long? 
  • Faith is trusting in things we cannot see or explain
  • Without the unknown there is no wondering, awe and trust 
  • Grace for our body by celebrating what our bodies can do that day


Shannyn sneaks in a couple of sermon topics ranging from heaven to hell, the importance of struggling through our faith walk, and how it is healthy to be angry with God. Listen in and enjoy the laughter and fun both Shannyn and Anna have on this episode.
